LAHORE: The Punjab government has chalked out a plan for the reconstruction of those schools’ buildings in the province that are in a bad shape. The government has granted approval for hiring of consultants for a survey and estimate costs, a senior official of the Punjab Planning and Development Board said on Sunday. He said the Provincial Development Working Party Punjab had approved Rs 31.584 million for hiring consultant firms for the survey and estimation of PC-II of the dangerous school buildings in Punjab. The approval was granted in a meeting of Provincial Development Working Party of current fiscal year. The meeting was presided over by Punjab P&D Board Chairman Muhammad Irfan Elahi. The official said that on the basis of the findings of these survey reports the school buildings that have been declared dangerous will be demolished. The cost estimates for the reconstruction will be approved and new school buildings will be constructed speedily.
