LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik paid a surprise visit to the Lahore High Court Bar Association on Saturday after which the lawyers called off their protest campaign against a woman judge, Justice Erum Sajad Gull. The protesting lawyers had accused Justice Gul of misbehaving with the bar’s president, Pir Masood Chishti. Talking to media, Chief Justice Malik said there was no dispute between the bench and bar and both are working for the dispensation of justice. “We have come to our home and nobody apologised to anyone,” he remarked. The chief justice was accompanied by other judges. Speaking on the occasion Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah said they had come to the bar to have a cup of tea in a pleasant environment. Masood Chishti hailed the visit of the chief justice and hoped that the incident that prompted it does not happen again. The lawyers had accused Justice Gull of misbehaving with Chishti during the proceedings of a case on July 29. They had been boycotting her court since then.
