Sir: The G T Road and Multan road are the two entry and exit points to the provincial capital. The Multan road remains choked because of the bus stand near the NHA office. Facing Multan, the bus stand is on the right side of the road and the passengers alighting from local buses on the left side of the road have to cross the main road to reach the bus stand. With increased traffic intensity, two lanes each on both sides of the Multan road are not enough to take the load of heavy and light traffic heading towards the Motorway or to the city. This sector of Multan road from Motorway overhead bridge to Chung needs an urgent attention of the authorities for widening it. The Motorway Police, for adding a lane each on both sides of the Multan road, submitted a proposal to the Punjab Chief Minister seven months ago, but no action has been taken on it. Instead of creating signal free zones in posh areas, the exit and entry roads on which commoners and motorists travel back and forth to the city should have been widened. Will the Chief Minister Punjab take action to ease the miseries the road-users face daily? PROFESSOR FAJUNE PIRZADA Lahore
