RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Thursday held a telephonic conversation with the Afghan leadership in which he informed them that the Charsadda attack was controlled from a location in Afghanistan, local media reported. According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) here, General Sharif contacted Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah and Resolute Support Mission Commander General John Campbell. He also shared details with them and asked for their cooperation in locating and targeting those responsible for the attack on the Bacha Khan University in Pakthunkhwa’s Charsadda District. At least 20 people were killed when four unidentified gunmen entered the university premises on Wednesday and opened fire on students and faculty members as they gathered at the school for a poetry recital to commemorate the death anniversary of the activist and leader whom the school is named after.
