ISLAMABAD – Former president and Pakistan People’s Party Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has stressed the need for resolving Kashmir dispute peacefully to ensure lasting peace in the region. He said “we express our unwavering political, moral and diplomatic support to the just struggle of our Kashmiri brethren for their right of self determination, as enshrined in the United Nations Charter and relevant UN resolutions. He said Kashmir Solidarity Day is also an occasion to pay tribute to the countless sacrifices of the valiant people of Kashmir. Zardari said Pakistan remains firmly committed to finding a just and peaceful solution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the people of Kashmir. “The freedom struggle of Kashmiris cannot be suppressed by using brutal force by India in the Occupied Kashmir”, Zardari said.
