LAHORE: Opposition Leader in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah has said that double standards of the PML-N government have been exposed over the “investigations” by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in Punjab. Shah was talking to media persons at the residence of PPP Punjab head Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo in Model Town during on Monday. The opposition leader said that the double standards of the federal government came to fore when the PML-N leaders expressed fear over investigations by the NAB. Shah stated that Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ahmad Khan did not live up to his statement regarding making a commission to investigate the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). He said that NAB had seen something that is why the accountability organisation wanted to hold accountability in Punjab. The PPP leader alleged that secret deals were being made for the export of liquefied natural gas (LNG) which would affect coal-based power projects in Punjab. He said that 15,000 MW electricity could have been generated, had the federal government spent some amount of the revenue earned by China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) on the Bhasha dam and Munda dam. Commenting over the issue of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Shah said that the PML-N government wanted to get the bill of converting the airlines into a company through a joint session of the parliament. A delegation of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) headed by the secretary Khurram Nawaz Gandapur also met Khursheed Shah and discussed the details of the Model Town killings incident. Gandapur invited the opposition leader to join the All Parties Conference being held in the last week of this month at Minhajul Quran on the Model Town killings issue that was accepted by him. Later, Khursheed Shah participated in a PPP women’s wing function held in connection with the International Women’s Day organised by party leader Belum Hasnain in Gulburg.
