ISLAMABAD: The special court trying former military ruler Pervez Musharraf for high treason has summoned him in person on March 31 to record his statement against the evidences and witnesses of prosecution. The three-member special court bench comprising Justice Tahira Safdar, Justice Yawar Ali and Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel, who heads it, heard the case on Tuesday and expressed displeasure over the filing of an “inadequate” medical report by the counsel for Musharraf. The counsel, Farogh Naseem, did not appear in the court, instead the report was filed by Faisal Chaudhry. According to the report, the medical team declared Musharraf in poor health and advised bed rest. However, the bench observed that the procedure adopted for producing the medical report was not correct and directed it be filed in a proper way. The court further observed that the orders of apex court are before it, under which statement of the former president has to be recorded. Chaudhry argued that the medical report cannot be filed in a proper way because the special court was not complete.
