ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday mocked former chief justice of Pakistan Abdul Hameed Dogar for being a ‘PCO judge’. “During the last stage, the special court decided, at Musharraf’s request, to include three additional names of the then law minister, prime minister, and the so-called chief justice of the time … I feel ashamed while calling him chief justice even… the PCO chief justice…,” he said at a press conference, while addressing the issue of widespread criticism the government has received since former president Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf was allowed to leave the country for medical treatment abroad. It is interesting to mention that former chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, for whom the ruling PML-N took to streets in a long march on March 15, 2009, to get him reinstated after he was sent home for refusing to take oath under the PCO following proclamation of emergency by General Musharraf on November 3, 2007, had not only took oath under the same PCO after General Musharraf toppled the PML-N government in a bloodless coup in 1999 but also later on validated all the extra-constitutional steps of the military ruler.
