ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar on Wednesday took suo motu notice of Nehal Hashmi’s speech in which he threatened the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s unidentified ‘enemies’ for the grilling of PM and his children. The CJP has also summoned Hashmi on Thursday. Earlier, Prime Minister suspended the party membership of Hashmi and directed him to tender his resignation from Senate, informed Minister of State for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb. The party authorities have also issued a show cause notice to the PML-N leader and have instructed him to step down from the party position of General Secretary PML-N Sindh. Sources have informed that Special Assistant to the PM on Political Affairs Dr Asif Kirmani summoned Hashmi lately to the PM office to convey the displeasure of the premier over his statements. Dr Kirmani told Hashmi that PM Nawaz has taken strict notice of his statement and demanded him to give clarification over his speech. Earlier, a video emerged of a Nehal Hashmi speech in which he threatened the prime minister’s unidentified ‘enemies’. “The one you are investigating is the PM’s son,” roared Hashmi. Without identifying who he was referring to, Hashmi said, “You will not be spared; you are in service now but remember you will retire tomorrow.” “Those investigating us [must know] we will observe your day of judgment,” he stated further.
