ISLAMABAD: The administration of Capital Development Authority (CDA) has failed completely in verification of educational degrees of some 1124 employees despite the lapse of three years, as after removing four fake degree holders, the process of verification was stopped. The management is all set to give a safe way to influential employees who have bogus degrees by transferring them to newly formed Metropolitan Corporation. The administration of CDA does not desire to verify the degrees of the officials as it wants to provide shelter to the hundreds of its officials who possess bogus degrees. Educational certificates and degrees of some 500 CDA employees were verified and declared absolutely correct by the different education boards and universities. However, four officials were removed from the services as their degrees were proved counterfeit. Punjab University had demanded the photographs of the officials concerned for verification of the degrees but the Degree Verification Section of CDA could not collect the photographs even in three months, due to which the verification from Punjab University is lingering on. The reliable sources said that the data of those officers is being collected who are not submitting their requisite details and photographs for the verification of their degrees and punitive action may be taken against them which could result stoppage of their salaries. It is pertinent to mention here that Chairman CDA established “Degree Verification Cell ” in the civic body in 2013 under the supervision of Member Administration Amir Ali Ahmed to verify the degrees of the officials working in BPS-16 and below.
