LAHORE – The Punjab Police Wednesday reviewed the crime situation of the past four months under the chairmanship of Inspector General Muhstaq Ahmad Sukhera here at the Central Police Office. Decision to continue the intelligence-based operations (IBOs) and police search and sweep operations in wake of the Iqbal park blast was also finalised in the conference. All field officers were directed to expedite the pending welfare case of the force so that their issues in this regard be settled amicably and the relief be ensured for the widows and the families of the deceased police officers. It was also decided that under the wedlock policy of the government all posting and transfers must be accelerated for their final settlement. Keeping in view the security arrangements during the month of Ramadan, it was decided that the proposals and recommendations must be prepared by the field officers, especially the security of the mosques, shrines and other worship places of the minorities across the province.
