ISLAMABAD: Court directed the SSP Headquarters of Islamabad Police to hold inquiry into charges levelled by Ghias ud Din, accused in murder case against officer Muhammad Riaz for allegedly subjecting him to torture on his refusal to accept his offer for fleeing. The accused Ghias ud Din appeared in the court in connection with murder case on Saturday. Mohsin Ghaffar advocate for the accused told the court that his client was in jail since the last seven months. Meanwhile officer Muhammad Riaz tried to give some concessions to the accused and also handed over keys of handcuffs to him. The accused took out keys from his pocket and presented it before the court saying that he was keeping keys with him as proof. He said Muhammad Riaz wanted him to flee from jail and had assured him that he would not allow him to be arrested from district courts. The accused stated that he was denied meal and was subjected to violence after he refused to accept offer from lane officer. He removed shirt from his back and showed the court injuries he sustained during violence. Muhammad Riaz lane officer, DSP Maqsood Ahmad and Inspector Sajid Ali were summoned in the court. The court ordered medical check up of the accused to be conducted under the supervision of DSP Maqsood Ahmad remarking that doctors should determine the time about injuries of the accused whether the injuries were fresh or old. Because the accused had said that he was subjected to violence half hour before. The court ordered for holding investigation into the matter and took the keys into its possession.
