ISLAMABAD : The accused Assistant Director (Law) CDA Shahid Singha who has allegations of getting undue advantages from Islamabad High Court’s Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui has submitted his written reply to the Supreme Judicial Council in the reference against the judge. Shahid Singha in his reply confessed that he and Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui were close friends from 1971 , when they used to play cricket for the same club . He said in his reply that when an un-precedented flood hit Lai Nullah in 2001, his house was also damaged. At that time his old friend Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui bestowed him some Rs two million , but did not ask him to repay the money ever. According to the documentary evidences which the Daily Times got from the President House, Shahid Singha mentioned in his reply that he was promoted to the rank of assistant director last year , which has no link with Justice Siddiqui. “I told him several months after my promotion when I paid a visit to his residence. He was astonished to know about my promotion which is clear evidence that Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui did not have any connection with my professional life”, he added in his reply. He said that as the matter regarding his son Nabeel Singha’s confirmation is concerned , the allegation in this regard are based on personal grudges and professional jealousy as his son was selected as Assistant Project Director (Kashmir Highways) in 2011. In the reply of para 8 of the reference he said that it is true that he had suffered a brain hemorrhage, and “was shifted to CDA hospital according to my entitlement, where the doctors diagnosed as Postier post but the treatment of that disease was not available at CDA’s Hospital so he was referred to Shifa International by Executive Director of CDA’s Hospital, where he underwent a surgery . He asked how his surgery could be connected with Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui as he was outside country for performing Umra at that time. He said that he did not do any illegal work. He said that as far as the appointment of his daughter in law , Maryam Nabeel Singha is concerned , she got her masters degree after studying at different universities and she was selected as Research Officer in IHC on merit. In the application , Singha also stated that the applicant , who filed a reference against Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, is Deputy Director Ali Anwar Gopang, who is known as “Corruption King” in the engineering department and there are many cases of his corruption in the NAB , but he could not reply to these allegations standing against him. The application has mentioned that Gopang’s son Kashif Anwar grabbed a house at G/8-2 illegally . Kashif was also inducted without observing any legal process in CDA on daily wages on the post of Assistant Director, which is the result of political pressure and influence. Now the matter is in the Islamabad High Court. When the Daily Times contacted applicant Ali Anwar Gopang , he said that Shahid Singha in his reply by confessing his friendship with the judge proved that all the allegations against Justice Siddiqui are correct . However the final decision would be made by the learned council.
