KARACHI: The late Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairperson Benazir Bhutto suffered a lot during the previous governments of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif because she was implicated in a number of cases, says Moula Bakhsh Chandio, adviser to the Sindh chief minister on information and archives. Chandio said the law of the jungle prevailed in the country whenever Sharif came into power in Pakistan. He lashed out at Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid who criticised Tuesday’s speech of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and said that Rashid’s criticism did not matter. He said that people had not forgotten the conversation between judges and Sharif on the cases that were fabricated against Bhutto and her spouse Asif Ali Zardari, co-chairman of the PPP and former president of Pakistan. Chandio, former member of the Senate of Pakistan, said that Sharif considered his political opponents as his personal enemies. He said that torture on Zardari in the prison proved this fact. He said that Zardari was imprisoned and Ms Bhutto was sent into exile during previous governments of Sharif. He said that Ms Bhutto was a brave and a courageous woman who suffered a lot while pursuing the fabricated cases against her in courts in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Karachi and other parts of the country. He said that she appeared in courts almost every day along with her children. He said it was a conspiracy of Sharif to stop Zardari from taking oath as a senator despite the fact that he was elected as a member of the Senate. “How can people forget the illegal steps taken by Sharif during his previous governments?” he asked. He said that Rashid had a Bhutto phobia; therefore, he was issuing baseless statements against the Bhutto family. Chandio advised Rashid to concentrate on his party’s affairs instead of showing concern for the PPP chairman. He said that his party chairman was the son of Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari and grandson of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and the national and international media would listen to him whenever he would speak.
