LAHORE: The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) Shakir Ali Museum in collaboration with Camera for People celebrated late artist and teacher Shakir Ali’s vision, “Between silence and the thought, lies the creative moment”, through organising an exhibition of photographic prints and a discussion between artists titled “The Creative Moment” on Thursday. On the occasion, 32 photographic prints were displayed which were printed by photographers. According to details, photographers printed their works on various surfaces such as Canson sheets, Saunders Waterford paper, Pastel Sheets, tracing paper, Renker Swiss 180gms paper, Kodak Endura Professional paper and fabric sheets with pigments via heat transfer. All prints were made by the photographers or under their supervision and command on EPSON 7800 K3 Ink HP 555 on laser printers and some on professionals labs. Abdul Waris Hameed, Ammara Nawaz Khan, Amna Yaseen, Ghanzanfar Bhinder, Muhammad Saeed Rao, Sher Muhammad, Umair Ghani and Zaheer Chaudhry teamed up to present self printed photographs on various surfaces commemorating the aforementioned Shakir Ali’s quote. Among the speakers, renowned cartoonist Javed Iqbal, portrait painter Professor Saeed Akhtar, senior journalist Shoaib Ahmed and photographer Umair Ghani were present along with PNCA Shakir Ali Museum Director Amna Pataudi. Shakir Ali Museum or the official birthplace of Shakir Ali is a family home museum in Lahore.
