LAHORE: The Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) aims to improve the quality of healthcare service delivery for the people of Punjab by introducing an institutionalised system of quality assurance through implementation of Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS) in both public and private sectors’ healthcare establishments. “The management of complaints of patients in cases of medical negligence, malpractice and failure of service is also a major mandate of the commission,” stated PHC Board Chairman Justice (r) Aamer Raza Khan on Saturday. PHC Chief Operating Officer Dr Muhammad Ajmal Khan updated the board on the activities of its various departments. The board was presented with the department progress reports for review. The board evaluated and finalised decisions on 37 cases of complaints recommended by the sub-committee of the board.
