KARACHI: Pakistan’s national snooker team, comprising four players and two officials, flew to Abu Dhabi here on Tuesday to feature in the 4th Asian Team Championship and 5th 6-Red Snooker Championship. “The players include Babar Masih, Muhammad Bilal, Asjad Iqbal and Muhammad Asif, while Naveed Kapadia and Shabir Hussain are accompanying them as referees,” Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) president Alamgir Sheikh said yesterday. He said the training camp of the players was held in Karachi where they were imparted quality training. He sounded optimistic about Pakistan’s chances and hoped players would perform well in the championships and return home with good results. A total of 14 Asian Confederation of Billiard Sports (ACBS) member countries will participate in the both events. The 6-Red Championship will be held from May 18-22 while the Team Championship will be held from May 23-26.
