ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali has remarked that bad governance and culture of favouritism rule the roost in the country. “I am not sure whether we will witness in our lifetime that this country runs through good governance and rule of law. Poor public is craving for a system that is based on good governance and is free of favouritism, corruption and nepotism,” he observed during the course of hearing of a petition filed by private tour operators in connection with Hajj quota. Counsel for the tour operators took the plea that the ministry of religious affairs was misinterpreting the court’s decision and quota was not being provided to the registered tour operators for the last four years.
