ISLAMABAD: Government is all set to get the approval of Rs 260.8 billion supplementary budget of the current fiscal year from the National Assembly as government failed to check and control of its expenditures despite all high claims, new vehicles purchased even it was ban, federal ministers travel and daily allowance met with additional amount. According to budget documents available withDaily Times, government spent over 260.87 billion rupees over and above from budget of the current fiscal year 2015-16 and for this government took supplementary grants to meet the expenditures of various ministries and divisions. This is 55 billion rupees higher than the last fiscal year, 158.87 billion rupees taken as technical supplementary grants while 101.99 billion rupees granted as regular supplementary grants, documents revealed. With the approval of prime minister, cabinet division increased the amount of TA/DA of federal ministers and ministers of state and for this 15 million rupees supplementary grants issued to cabinet secretariat. 1.23 billion rupees supplementary grants obtained for intelligence bureau, from this Rs 631million taken for establishment and up gradation of secured wide area network of communication to link its provincial and regional offices for sharing of classified data and information with IB headquarters while Rs 600 million spent on purchase of jammers and expenses related to taxes and duties. It was also disclosed in the documents that government took 375 million rupees for repair and maintenance of Rawalpindi Islamabad Metro Bus Service System, this amount spent on the repairs of metro buses. Government itself put ban on the purchase of new vehicles but ministry of foreign affairs throw the orders of the finance division in the air and purchased 35 high security vehicles and for this purpose Rs 821.9 million taken as supplementary grant from the national exchequer, the documents says.
