NOWSHERA: ANP Secretary General Mian Iftikhar Hussain on Sunday said PTI Chairman Imran Khan was criticizing the federal government over Panama Papers Leaks but he was keeping mum over Khyber Leaks. The Awami National Party wanted probe into the Bank of Khyber (BoK) scandal, whom he termed Khyber Leaks, by the Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court, he added. Addressing a public meeting here, Mian Iftikhar said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief was blowing the Panama Leaks out of proportion despite the fact that he himself was a pioneer of forming offshore companies. He said the committee formed by the PTI-government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had finalised its probe into the Khyber Leaks, but it was strange that neither the KP Finance Minister nor the BoK Managing Director was punished in the light of the inquiry report. He said the ANP did not accept the inquiry into Khyber Leaks by a provincial minister who himself was removed by the PTI on corruption charges. “The Khyber Leaks should be probed by the PHC Chief Justice,” he added. The ANP leader alleged that KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak throughout his political career had violated discipline of the party to which he remained associated for the last 30 years. “This is biggest corruption”, he said. He said Imran Khan had wasted the nation’s time by staging 126-day ‘dharna’ (sit-in) in Islamabad but he was not allowing nurses to come on road protesting for their rights. The KP police had manhandled and lathi-charged the protesting female nurses, which was against democratic norms, he added.
