DADU: Molecular laboratory of hepatitis diseases at Hepatitis Centre Dadu would start providing free of cost tests of hepatitis A, B, C and D to patients and also people of surrounding parts of Dadu. At the inauguration ceremony, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) member of the National Assembly Rafiq Ahmed Jamali said that are an increasing number of patients particularly in the far flung areas of Kachho and mountains areas of districtm besides costly treatment, this laboratory would provide all sorts of health facilities. District Health Officer, Dr Jaweed Ahmed Dawach said that at private hospitals’ treatment costs Rs 15,000 but this centre would conduct tests free of cost. He assured appointing of more trained staff at the Centre. Programme manager of Centre, Dr Wali Leghari informed that the increasing number of hepatitis patients in Sindh has reached 3 million. PPP MPA, Kalsoom Chandio thanked former Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Qaim Ali Shah, CM Murad Ali Shah and former deputy commissioner Dadu, Dr Niaz Ahmed Abbasi for their cooperation in establishing this centre. Sindh government will release adequate funds for more equipment and medicines for the centre, she added. Dr Sajeela Leghari, program manager of Hepatitis Programme Sindh, Dr Wali Muhammad, Civil Surgeon Civil Hospital Dadu, Dr Abdul Razak Junejo, Dr Rehana Chandio and Dr Shazia Panhwar were also present on the occasion.
