BATKHELA: A Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) representative on Monday lashed out at the provincial government led by his own party for not ensuring smooth electricity supply to Batkhela. Talking to reporters, District Councillor Asghar Ayub Khan said that former provincial minister Humayun Khan and former federal minister Lal Muhammad Khan approved a separate grid station for the area in 2008. He said that Rs 640 million had been released for the project, but work on it had yet to begin. He called into question three-year performance of the PTI in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with respect to development projects. Khan said that work on Lakki Marwat and Shangla grid stations had already begun. He demanded that provincial and federal governments initiate work on the Batkhela grid station and rid the area of prolonged loadshedding.
