KARACHI: Former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain has said that former president Asif Ali Zardari’s foster brother Owais Muzaffar alias Tappi is involved in all kind of corruption. In the video statement aired on Wednesday evening, Dr Hussain said that former Sindh minister Owais Muzaffar was the “working” chief minister of Sindh during the second reign of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and was involved in corrupt practices. “Once a doctor told me that a Rs 600 vaccine was bought for Rs 1,000. Upon investigation into the case I found the allegations were true. I complained about this to Zardari and asked him to stop Owais Muzaffar from playing with people’s lives, after which Owais hurled threats at me,” Dr Hussain said. “He [Owais] warned me: ‘I will hit you in a way you will remember for the rest of your life’,” Dr Asim quoted Owais in a video confession as saying. The close aide of former president Asif Ali Zardari, Dr Hussain was arrested by Sindh Rangers from the office of Higher Education Commission in Clifton on August 26, 2015.
