SUKKUR: Sukkur police on Friday found a private torture cell in Rohri. A special team formed by DIG Sukkur Feroze Shah raided a point on a tip-off and found that a private torture cell was allegedly running under the aegis of some police officials in Rohri district Sukkur setting free three persons who were to be sent to Islamabad via Quetta. The team disclosed that the cell was being headed by dismissed Sub Inspector Ayaz Kherho with the help of a constable posted at Mitiari, Jawed Kherho. According to the report filing on Friday, the captivities were chartered accounting students who were travelling from Islamabad to Quetta. The team informed that the students were intercepted on the way to Quetta for checking identity cards of the passengers in the bus and then these three were arrested and held to demand Rs 1 million ransom from their parents. The police registered a case against their four criminal colleagues named Ayaz Kherho, Jawed Kherho, and two others for torturing young students and running an illegal torture cell. Further investigation was not shared till the story was filed.
