KARACHI: The Pakistan Hindu Council (PHC) has expressed deep concern over the “missing and killing” of Hindu boys in Hyderabad and Kashmore, respectively and demanded that the Sindh government take measures to protect the community. Speaking at the Hyderabad Club on Sunday, National Assembly lawmaker Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani said that the increasing intolerance led to destruction of the society. He said it was the responsibility of the state to provide protection to the minorities under Article 20(a)(b) and Article 36 of the Constitution of Pakistan. He was of the view that prejudice and biasness was being flamed to target innocent minorities, especially Hindus in Sindh. Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani also extended his condolence to Dr Chetan Das Hotwani, a renowned Hindu pediatrician and Assistant Professor at LUMHS, whose 13-year-old son, Vinet, was murdered two months ago. The PHC urged the Sindh government to pay attention towards “suffering of the minorities” in the province, besides demanding protection to religious rights.
