ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has taken notice of the alleged violence against the officials of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and directed the official linked to the violence, Muhammad Suleman, joint secretary at the Interior Ministry, to report to the Establishment Division with immediate effect. The Interior Ministry took action after it received an application from the NAB. The ministry said that such awful behaviour of senior officials would not be tolerated. The NAB said in its application that National Commission for Human Rights member Nagina and Suleman came to the NAB office along with officials of Gilgit Scouts. They physically attacked the security staff at the NAB office when they were stopped for checking and then entered the office forcibly. Then they hit the NAB officers inside the office and hurled threats at them. The bone of contention was an air-conditioner that was installed at the old office of the NAB in F-6 Sector that was later given to the National Commission for Human Rights. The NAB team vacated the building and tried to take the air conditioner with them, but the officials of the NCHR did not allow them to uninstall the AC. The NAB officials who came under attack submitted an application to Aabpara Police Station against Nagina and Suleman.
