PESHAWAR: A group of traders on Wednesday appealed to Peshawar High Court Chief Justice and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister to immediately remove the blocks planted in front of Dil Jan Plaza located on Sonehri Masjid road Cantonment. “For the past 14 months, the blocks have been planted outside the plaza which has greatly affected our business” said Haji Waheed Ahmad, president of traders union of the plaza during a press conference at Peshawar Press Club. He added that the traders of the plaza were regular taxpayers and had paid million rupees in rent over the past 30 years but after the blocks had been planted, their business had been completely damaged and buyers were reluctant to come to the plaza. Flanked by General Secretary Muhammad Nisar vice president Muhammad Saleem, and their lawyer Advocate Khawaja Aurangzeb, he said that Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif and KP Chief Minister Parvaiz Khattak had already that the blocks be renewed, but despite those directives the blocks were present there. The blocks, he said, not only affected their business but also created hurdles in daily traffic on the busy roads, saying the traders community had also demanded KP Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra to take action in this regard but to no avail. Auranzeb criticised the PTI chairman and KP government, saying that Imran Khan and Parvaiz Khattak’s politics were limited only to the Panama leaks, while ignoring the issues being faced by the common people in the province.
