ISLAMABAD: The top officials of the Federal Ombudsman are allegedly involved in corruption and financial embezzlement while transferring seven government owned vehicles worth Rs 4.1 million on their names under the monetization policy. According to reports, officials have transferred vehicles bearing registration number GW-002 Toyota Corolla, GA-816 Corolla, GE-092 Honda City, LEG 11-369. GH-136, GS-624 and GS-625, on their name against a minor payment. “Ahmed Buksh, Secretary Federal Ombudsman has transferred vehicle bearing registration number GX-026 and vehicle no GLI on his name while the other beneficiary is Muhammad Naeem, who has also transferred the vehicles on his name illegally”, the report added and maintained that despite ending the contracts, the consultants and advisor of ombudsman are performing their duties. “A meeting was held on Nov 23, 2011 under the chair of the Secretary Ombudsman in which it was decided that advisers could continue their duties whose contracts had ended”, the report added. The report added that this decision was not accepted because it was illegal to continue the duty without the renewal of contracts. The officials who are performing their duties despite the ending of contracts include Advisor consultants Farhat Hussain BPS-22, Mansoor, Syed Yasin Ahmad, and Ali Akbar Bharki all in BPS-21, Brigadier (Retd) Ahmed Salim BPS-20, Khalid Mirza BPS-20, Air Commodore (Retd) Khalilur-Rehman Sherani BPS-20, Ehsan Bashir and Saqib Khan BPS-19.
