ISLAMABAD: A condolence reference in memory of former World Heavyweight Boxing Champion Muhammad Ali was held at Preston University, Islamabad. The event was jointly organised by Preston University and the Archaeological and Historical Association of Pakistan (AHAP). Mr. Jeffrey Sexton. The Minister Counsellor for Public Affairs, US Embassy was the chief guest on the occasion. Eminent among the speakers who spoke on the occasion and shed light on the life and achievements of the greatest boxing champion of the world late Muhammad Ali were Ghazanfar Mehdi, Chairman AHAP, Zafar Bakhtawari and eminent social figure, Dr. Firoza Ahmed, Dean Social Sciences and DG HR Preston University and Dr. Allah Wadhayo Baloch, Registrar Preston University. In his address as chief guest, Jaffrey Sexton Minister Counsellor Public Affairs, Embassy of the United States of America in Pakistan said Muhammad Ali was not only a boxing champion of the world he was also a great human being and a distinguished American citizen. His contribution towards building the image of America and promoting the cause of boxing as internationally acclaimed sports will be remembered for all times to come. He said though his fame throughout the world was due to his stature as a world boxing champion, Muhammad Ali by serving the humanity across the world, proved that he was truly an admirable human being.
