ISLAMABAD: The former speaker of the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly and an independent candidate of the legislative assembly Sardar Syab Khalid has settled matters with the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N). Khalid was a candidate of LA 20 Poonch 4. He will officially announce his participation in the PM-N in the presence of federal ministers and the leadership of the Pakistan Muslim League Azad Kashmir soon. According to sources, the top leadership of the PML-N Azad Kashmir Sardar Sikander Hayat and President PMLN Azad Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider contacted Sardar Syab Khalid and invited him to join the PML-N. Both the leaders gave full assurance to Khalid of their support.Sardar Syab Khalid then decided to join the PML-N instead of contesting the election. According to sources, Syab was in contact with the PML-N during the last few months but could not join the party due to some reasons. It is pertinent to mention here that Syab was elected as a member of the assembly for a few times and remained as speaker and law minister of Azad Kashmir. Khalid applied for a ticket for the Muslim Conference but it gave a ticket to former member Kashmir Counsel Sardar Sagheer Chugtai. Therefore Sardar Syab resigned from the party membership and decided to contest the election as an independent candidate.
