Iran’s Foreign Minister Javad Zarif called on Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa. According to Pakistan Army Public Relations (ISPR), Iranian Foreign Minister Jawad Zarif visited the GHQ and met with the army chief. During the meeting between the Iranian Foreign Minister and the COAS Bajwa, issues of mutual interest and regional security were discussed, as well as the Afghan reconciliation process. He is also scheduled to meet National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser and Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa. Accompanied by the Iranian Foreign Minister, a delegation of political and economic experts is also visiting Pakistan. The Foreign Office said that Zarif’s visit would help boost bilateral co-operation and consensus on a number of regional issues. The Iranian foreign minister also planted a tree at the Foreign Ministry. Muhammad Jawad Zarif will also meet Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Dr. Arif Ali. Earlier, the Iranian foreign minister visited the Pakistan Foreign Office and met with his Pakistani counterpart, Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
