After the PML-N MPs’ active participation in the protest rallies under the Pakistan Democratic Movement, the government has assigned the Anti-Corruption Establishment a special task to investigate financial affairs of serving and former members of PML-N in Faisalabad The officers of ACE Faisalabad Region have been directed to form specific teams for the constituencies of National and Provincial Assemblies and submit detailed reports on development schemes from 2013 to 2018 to unveil corruption. According to sources, many PML-N members actively participated in the protest rallies under the Pakistan Democratic Movement. The schedule of the PDM’s Lahore meeting in December has also been released, after which the Anti-Corruption Establishment in Faisalabad region will compile a report on providing income, property and financial resources of PML-N Faisalabad MPs. An investigation was meant to prevent these dynamic political leaders from participating in the PDM’s protest rallies. The ACE Faisalabad Region has started inspecting the properties, sources of income and financial affairs of the key leaders and active and former members of the National Assembly. It was also clarified that in the anti-corruption Faisalabad region, various eminent leaders including former and current PML-N including Punjab Assembly member Zafar Iqbal Nagar, former Minister of State for Water and Power Chaudhry Abid Sher Ali, Former Member Punjab Assembly Muhammad Nawaz Malik, Former Mayor of Municipal Corporation Muhammad Razzaq Malik, Former Member Punjab Assembly and City President Sheikh Ijaz Ahmed and Deputy Mayor of Municipal Corporation Faisalabad Sheikh Muhammad Yousuf cases and inquiries are already underway against in Faisalabad region and work on them has also been directed to be expedited. In this regard, the anti-corruption Faisalabad region officials said that whatever instructions were received from the Punjab government would be fully implemented. The Anti-Corruption Establishment is well aware of its responsibilities and its duty is to investigate other issues including corruption in any development scheme and no compromise will be made.
