KARACHI: The Sindh Association of North Americans (SANA) while condemning the killing of a Hindu youth in Ghotki, has termed it as a conspiracy to push Sindh province in religious extremism. According to a statement issued from Houston on Thursday, SANA President Jameel Dawoodi and General Secretary Noorun Nisa Ghanghro said that the burning of Holy Quran by a mentally sick Hindu does not mean that the entire Hindus are involved in this matter. “It is intolerable that all Hindus are targeted following an individual act by a mentally sick man, which we condemn and it should be condemned at all forums”, the SANA leader said. “The Muslims as well as Hindus are living together in Sindh province since centuries and both respect each others religion. The Hindus of the province warmly participate in Urs of sufi saints, poets, gatherings, Muharram processions and standby with the Muslims. The same practice is also showed by Muslims in religious festivities of Hindus”, they said. According to SANA leaders, few anti-social elements are trying to create disharmony between Muslims and Hindus for their nefarious designs adding that Ghotki incident is also the part of their plan. Jameel Dawoodi and Noorun Nisa Ghanghro demanded that the government should ensure the protection of lives and properties of the community members in the province and in the wake of a mob killing a Hindu youth and injuring another accusing them of blasphemy.
