LARKANA: A paramilitary soldier was killed and five others were injured on Saturday when two blasts, targeting the paramilitary force, hit their vehicle near a checkpost on Miro Khan Road of the district. Police said that the first explosive device, which was planted on a bicycle parked near a Rangers checkpost, blew off when a paramilitary’s vehicle was passing by, injuring five Rangers men and nine passers-by. The second bomb was placed inside a garbage bin. The injured were shifted to Chandka hospital Larkana for medical treatment where Sepoy Shahid Siyal succumbed to his injuries. A heavy contingent of police cordoned off the area after the blasts and started a search operation in the area. Police said that two suspects were taken into custody for interrogation. A bomb disposal squad also visited the scene to determine the nature of the blasts. Taking notice, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah directed Larkana police to arrest the culprits at the earliest. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack on the paramilitary force and expressed deep grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of the Rangers man.
