Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa Tuesday met senior serving and retired military officers to discuss security and other professional matters. “The COAS had an interactive session on wide ranging issues including professional matters, security situation in the region, measures to optimise dividends of peace and stability and also the challenges and opportunities,” read a statement issued by the ISPR. The meeting took place at Corps Headquarters Lahore where the army chief was given multifarious suggestions by participants who also thanked him for the candid discussion. Participants of the meeting included General (r) Jehangir Karamat, General (r) Ahsan Saleem Hyat, General (r) Tariq Majid, General (r) Rashad Mahmood and General (r) Raheel Sharif. Earlier on arrival, the COAS was received by Lieutenant General Majid Ehsan, Commander Lahore Corps. In a separate press release issued by the ISPR, Director General Major General Babar Iftikhar said in the line of duty, Pakistan Police is the first responder to every cry for help with purpose and pride. He paid tribute to the martyrs of Pakistan Police on Police Martyrs Day. “On Police Martyrs Day, tribute to martyrs of Pakistan Police. In the line of duty, they have been the 1st responders to every cry for help and answered every call with purpose and pride,” he tweeted.
