Islamabad High Court (IHC) has rejected petition for his reinstatement by PTV officer who was sacked for showing Kashmir as part of India on PTV. Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani of IHC issued the decision regarding rejection of plea for reinstatement Wednesday. PTV former head of current affairs Akram Ali had challenged his dismissal from service in IHC. Shah Khawar advocate counsel for Akram Ali told the court PTV inquiry report was received on June 9, A 2-member inquiry committee dismissed his client without serving show cause notice. Sacking an officer with 27 years’ service at his credit without hearing him is illegal. The fundamental rights were also breached by not completing legal formalities. The head of current affairs was not directly responsible for this matter. He requested the court to nullify notice for sacking of his client by declaring it illegal. Counsel for PTV told the court showing Kashmir as part of India in map was severely criticized. Fundamental rights are not larger than the existence of state. There are limits to them. Indian anchors unleashed propaganda blitz on this blunder through tweets. The court dismissed the petition for his reinstatement filed by Akram Ali after hearing the arguments from both sides.
