WASHINGTON: The United States offered Pakistan its cooperation to catch the deadly Quetta bombing culprits. US also decried the militant attack which killed at least 70 people. The US State Department Spokesperson Elizabeth Trudeau condemned the Quetta blast during a briefing in Washington and said that the two important pillars of democracy, journalism and judiciary, were targeted. She expressed sympathy with the relatives of the victims of the attack and said that such incidents only strengthened the global resolve to fight militancy around the world. She also said that the US was with Pakistan in the war against militancy and would not attempt to exploit the Quetta bombings politically. In response to a question, she said that the US was concerned about violence in Kashmir but it wanted the issue to be resolved through dialogue between India and Pakistan. The bombing attack in Quetta on Monday killed 70 people and injured scores of others. The incident was also condemned by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Balochistan chief minister and governor and various other Pakistani politicians and personalities. The Islamic State militant group claimed responsibility for the suicide bomb attack.
