LAHORE: The legal fraternity on Tuesday observed a day of mourning and offered absentee funeral prayers for the victims of Quetta blast. The prayers were offered within the premises of the Lahore High Court. The LHC chief justice, along with several judges of the court, offered prayers for the victims besides praying for peace in the region. The Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) members expressed solidarity with the grieved families. The lawyers kept themselves away from the court work and only urgent cases were heard. Black flags were hoisted in the bar council and association offices. Lawyers wore black bands to mark solidarity with the victims with protest on the brutal killing of advocates and media persons. LHCBA President Rana Ziaur Rehman demanded the government to probe into the tragedy and punish the culprits with exemplary sentences.
