RAWALPIND: As many as 150 citizens are reported to have lost their lives and 860 persons including 47 police men sustained injuries in 1416 cases of murder, attempt to murder, kidnappings, rapes, suicide attacks and armed clashes registered in 30 police stations of district Rawalpindi during the first seven months from January to July. According to official statistics related to the period from January, 01 to July 31, 2016, 150 persons were killed in cases of old enmity, murder and armed clashes. 192 persons were injured in different attempt to murder cases. three persons lost their lives by committing suicide. 592 persons were injured in incidents of armed clashes and other violent incidents. Citizens were deprived of valuables, cash worth over Rs 2 billion at gun point, in 1717 incidents of banditry, burglaries and theft. 31 vehicles and 32 motorcycles were snatched and 733 vehicles and motorcycles were stolen. 37 incidents of rape including two incidents of gang rape occurred. Two incidents of child abuse were reported. As many as 301 incidents of kidnapping including two incidents of kidnapping for ransom took place. 12 infants were abducted. Police have not registered any case of mobile and purse snatching to show their “false” performance.
