ISLAMABAD: Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif was apparently the happiest person in the National Assembly on Wednesday during a walkout staged by the opposition parties against Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan. Although he was sidelined from all meetings that took place after the Quetta tragedy – not to mention that he was not even allowed to speak on the incident in parliament – he looked pretty happy when opposition leader Khurshid Shah announced to walk out of the House against a statement of the interior minister, in which he criticised the previous governments. Afterwards, PM Nawaz made another parliamentary history, as he became the first premier to have visited the opposition lobby to bring the lawmakers back to the House. To show the solidarity with opposition parties and to make Nisar angrier, Khawaja Asif also stood up and went towards the opposition lobby with the prime minister. In the opposition lobby, Asif broke some words with Khurshid Shah and then they laughed over something, implying that both of them had succeeded in their respective missions.
