ISLAMABAD: Decision has been taken to suspend the mobile service on the occasion of Independence day on August 14 to avoid any untoward incident in the federal capital in prevailing security situation in the country. Sources said that mobile service will remain shut from 6 am to 12 pm on August 14. Islamabad administration has contacted Pakistan Telecommunication Authority and interior ministry in this regard, however, interior ministry has not given any final reply. It is pertinent to mention here that government has announced to celebrate Independence day with enthusiasm and fervor and on the other hand security matters are also under consideration throughout the country after Quetta tragedy. Security has been beefed up all over the country following Quetta massacre and combing operation by security forces is also continuing.
