KARACHI: This is happening for the first time in the recent history of the country politics that allies and elected members are parting their ways with a ruling party, as Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N)’s significant leader in Sindh Mumtaz Ali Bhutto ended the merger of his party Sindh National Front (SNF) with the ruling party, and Abdul Hakeem Baloch, the only member of the National Assembly from Sindh (PMLN) resigned from the post of minister of state. In 2009 Mr. Bhutto merged his party SNF into PML-N and he was offered an important role in the province. Later on, the political situation of the Sindh turned towards unexpected dimension and PML-N’s leadership could not deliver to Mr Bhutto’s requirements which resulted into the end of merger from PML-N and restoration of SNF. “Nawaz Sharif did not fulfill any promise he had made, we were assured at the time of merger that the government’s business and framework would be made according to the Resolution of Pakistan and the provincial autonomy would be restored. They adjusted my son Amir Bux Bhutto as adviser but he was not empowered to deliver to the public” said Mumtaz Bhutto in a statement. Abdul Hakeem Baloch, the only PML-N MNA from Sindh elected from NA 258 Karachi, was also sidelined by the party leadership. He was appointed the Minster of the State but was not awarded with any powers. Baloch resigned from the office and now he is planning his future strategy , recently his son joined Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) and Hakeem is also making contacts with his kinsmen and the stakeholders of the constituency s that he may to leave his party and assembly membership and join a new party. Sources said that Hakeem is in close contacts with PPP and in next few days he would join PPP. Talking to Daily Times, Baloch said PML-N is only limited to central Punjab and Hazara division. The party leadership has ignored due share of the provinces, no leader from other provinces is included in policy making and in taking decisions about governance. “Decisions are made in in-house sessions, the authority and powers are being exercised by few persons, the party has no interest in Sindh. was awarded the state ministry but wasn’t authorised to do something for public” Hakeem Baloch said, adding that he is MNA of the PML-N yet, but his workers, voters and kinsmen were pressurizing him to leave the party and to join PPP. In reply to a question, Hakeem denied that the PPP had a deal with PML-N that and the latter would not to take part in the Politics of Sindh, but I think our leadership has no any interest in Sindh that’s why they have ignored us and party interests, as well. According to a source, the National Peoples Party (NPP) is also about to end its merger with PML-N very soon. The source said that Murtaza Jatoi, the chairman of the NPP and a federal minister, who merged his party into the PML-N, is also reconsidering the decision. Jatoi is of the view that PML-N leadership has different policies for the provinces. Mr jatoi was contacted many times for his view but his cell-phone remain unattended.
