LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri has said that corrupt forces have joined hands and are working against the very existence of Pakistan. Addressing a party rally in Dera Ghazi Khan via video link from Lahore on Thursday evening, the PAT chief said, “It seemed that Altaf’s speech was written in Islamabad and sent to London, from where it was read out and the anti-state activities were witnessed in Karachi.” He said if the evidence given to the British government was creditable than why the Pakistani government had not registered a treason case against him as yet. Qadri once again held prime minister and the Punjab chief minister responsible for the Model Town killings and added he would not rest until “Qisas” was paid. He said those who were involved in Model Town killings had been sent abroad and the rest of them were ready to either go abroad or disappear. He said there was no difference between those who ransacked Karachi and those who carried out suicide blast in Quetta. “It is being done intentionally to put extra pressure on the Pakistan Army; incite the public and take away the media attention from important national issues so as to give relief to the under pressure Sharif government, which is not finding a way out of the Panama leaks issue and the Model Town killings,” he maintained. The PAT Chief said that the PM was only offering lip service and had failed to present any concrete measures for the national security. He criticised the Punjab government for neglecting southern Punjab in the budget allocation. He said the Punjab government could not see anything beyond Lahore and the Orange Train and metro projects. Later, he announced to hold sit-ins and rallies in Multan on August 27 and Rawalpindi on August 28. Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmad, PAT secretary Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Kh Aamir Fareed Koreja, Fayyaz Warraich, former Punjab chief minister Dost Mohammed Khosa, Sardar Saifuddin Khosa, Sardar Shakir Mazari, Sardar Saifullah Sadozai, Sardar Riaz Khan Leghari and Malik Akhtar also addressed the sit-in rally.
