KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) has issued notices to Sindh government and the concerned parties with reference to a petition seeking ban on Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). A two-member bench presided over by SHC Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah took up for hearing petition filed by Moulvi Iqbal Haider seeking imposition of ban on MQM. The petitioner took the plea that founder of MQM was anti Pakistan, therefore, case under terrorism and security act be registered against MQM and ban be slapped on it. He prayed the court to issue directives to the Senate chairman and speakers of National Assembly and Sindh assembly to send reference to election commission for disqualification of MQM parliamentarians. On hearing the stance of petitioner the SHC issued notices to Sindh government, Election Commission, Members of parliament and Sindh assembly from MQM and others besides seeking reply from them.
