ISLAMABA: A Pakistan Under-17 football team left for Scotland here the other day without obtaining No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the federal government. Sources told Daily Times Wednesday that the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) had failed to implement its own decisions. At the airport, officials of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) have stopped the football team, but due to interference of a top official allowed the team to travel abroad. “The PSB refused to issue the required NOC to the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) for the participation in the Under-17 Championship, clearly explaining that the PSB issues NOCs only to those sports federations which are affiliated with PSB,” sources added. Sources further said the PFF had no affiliation with the PSB, therefore, NOC was not issued for the visit of Scotland. “However, despite clear directions of the PSB regarding issuance of NOC, the Pakistan team has succeeded to reach Scotland because of inclusion of Moeez Akhtar Ganjera, son of PSB director general Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera,” sources said.
