As many as 842 more pilgrims have arrived in DI Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Taftan border here on Friday. 201 pilgrims hailed from Gilgit-Baltistan, while 241 are residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. All pilgrims have been placed at a quarantine centre in DI Khan and will be cleared after going through the screening process and PCR test. Meanwhile, at least 83 labourers returning from Iran have been shifted to a quarantine centre in Larkana on Thursday night. According to the details, the labourers were moved to a quarantine centre established at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University in Benazirabad. The suspected cases include 61 males, five females and 17 children. These suspected persons recently reached from Iran and were alleged to be hiding in their hometowns from where they were tracked and brought here for isolation and testing purposes as a preventive measure to stop spread of the viral disease which has so far claimed so many lives across the globe. According the officials of the health department, 43 out of these 83 persons belong to Larkana district, 22 are from Shikarpur and seven from Shahdadkot, one each from Khanewal (Punjab), Sanghar, Kotri and Jamshoro, two each from Hyderabad and Gujranwala (Punjab) and three from Dadu district. According to the sources, these people at the very outset reached at quarantine centre in Balochistan on their arrival from Iran from where they escaped and were later on located and then shifted to the SMBBMU Centre for screening. The government has taken proactive measures and kept the rest houses and guest houses vacant to deal with any unforeseen circumstances. Ministry of Health Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been handed the charge of the empty guest houses and rest houses to keep probable patients diagnosed with novel coronavirus seeking recommended isolation.
