Members of the National Assembly Mohsin Dawar and Ali Wazir on Sunday were granted one-time permission, on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s instructions, to visit Kabul for Ashraf Ghani’s oath-taking ceremony. Earlier, the lawmakers of Pashtun Tahafuz Movement were barred by the Federal Investigation Agency to visit Kabul for being on the Exit Control List. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan retweeted a tweet by the Ministry of Interior that informed that both the MNAs were given one-time permission by the ministry to travel to Afghanistan. “As per the instructions of the Prime Minister @ImranKhanPTI, one-time permission has been granted by MOI to MNA @mjdawar & @Aliwazirna50 to travel to Afghanistan,” she retweeted. It may be mentioned here that Mohsin Dawar and Ali Wazir were barred from boarding a Kabul-bound flight on Sunday, saying the MNAs could not be allowed to travel abroad because their names were on the ECL. “We were going to Kabul and our flight was scheduled for 3:30pm,” Mohsin Dawar told a private news channel over the phone, adding that they were stopped at the airport at 2pm during the immigration process.
