KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has summoned Sindh government and Inspector General of Police (IGP) on 27th while taking action on a constitutional petition filed by Rao Anwar against his suspension. The suspended Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) has moved to the court against his suspension by the Sindh government, making the government of Sindh and IGP Sindh parties. The hearing of the petition was conducted by a divisional bench headed by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazahar. He submitted that his suspension was in contrast with law and the constitution as he was doing his job in accordance with the law when he arrested leader of the opposition in Sindh Assembly Khuwaja Izharul Hassan because several cases are registered against him. Rao said, he raided Hassan’s residence after receiving credible intelligence information. Khuwaja Izharul Hassan was actually arrested by the investigation officer and Rao Anwaar rushed there to handle any un-expected situation, the petition stated. After hearing the arguments of Anwar’s Counsel Barrister Salahuddin the court summoned the Sindh government and the IGP; and adjourned the case till the 27th of this month.
