KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday while expressing displeasure over not submitting complete report regarding charges leveled against education officers directed National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to produce the dossier before the court on October 6th. A division bench comprising of Justice Irfan Saadat Khan and Justice Muhammad Karim Khan Agha conducted hearing on the constitutional petition filed by former Director Schools Education (Karachi region) Attaullah G Bhutto, Director Schools Hyderabad, District Education Officer (DEO) Matiari Safia Ameer Arbab and others against NAB. NAB had arrested the said officers on the charges of fake appointments in Director Schools Hyderabad and Karachi regions during their tenures. In the previous hearing the court directed NAB officials to submit a reference containing details of charges leveled upon the applicants before the bench but NAB authorities could not submit the reference. The applicants in their constitutional petition have submitted that NAB’s action against them is completely in contrast with law and the constitution as education is purely provincial government’s matter while NAB is federal entity, so the court may kindly order the NAB to dispose of the reference against them. Attaullah Bhutto told Daily Times that the appointments were made in 2012 in accordance with rules and regulations, and all caudal formalities were completed but NAB is harassing them, which is illegal.
