ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Wednesday assured army leadership that all resources would be provided to the armed forces and the government would bear expenses of Pak-Afghan border management. According to ISPR, Dar called on Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, at GHQ. Financing matters related to capacity building for effective Pak-Afghan border management, including raising of fresh 29 civil armed forces wings were discussed. Sources told Daily Times that the military leadership urged Dar to release funds for completion of new wings of civil armed forces. These 29 wings would be deployed on Pakistan-Afghan border under border management system. Sources added that the minister assured the army chief of early release of funds. He also said that the government would also provide funds for the rehabilitation of internally displaced persons. The meeting also discussed current security situation on eastern and western borders and it was reiterated that armed forces are fully prepared to give a befitting reply to any aggressor, sources concluded.
